the road to the trail...
Feb 20th, 2010, 3:48pm

is all jacked up. I don't know what is going on, but a landmover has put huge piles of dirt down the road and destroyed the parts of the road that don't have dirt pile on them.  You have to drive adjacent to the road. and it is not a nice drive...yet. I guess it will wear in and be ok. There is also a bit of ATV intrusion seen on the ridge lines.

Marlin your car WILL make it ,but I would park at the hotel or wendy's and ride back. It would kinda be like riding at Boyette.

Thanks for checking it out nick.

The trail is in great shape! TJ was headed out when we were headed in. Wow that trail is sweet! even though its been pretty dry lately it is hard packed. the road in was a little rough but the race car made it through. Cant wait to do it again. Wondering what they are going to do out there?

ok it sounds like the dirt was left over from another nearby project, they(idi) took it to level out the road but it hasn't been spread out yet.

if i hear anything else ill pass it on.

well the road to the trail was pretty much impassible except with 4wd, and it looks like they are nowhere near done regrading the road yet. best bet may be to park in one of the parking lots nearby and ride in, and as soft as the dirt on the road was you may want to ride in from the cul-de-sac.

other than that the trail is in the best shape ive seen in a long time, great flow, well trimmed, not much sand and pretty much no mud.

have fun!

Yeah the road is pretty messed up, I was out there in my jeep no problems for me. Good news I met a guy with a driving small toyota sedan, and he made it back more than half way and parked on the grass. I would not discourage anyone from trying to make it back there. The worst I see happening, park and ride in. Happy riding. P

well IDI took a drive out there and thats not all their dirt. it was apparently dumped there either by the county, city, fdot, somebody with the intent of regrading the road. a quick call to the county regarding the dirt and they claimed it was not their doing.....so....yeah. im not going to waste too much more effort playing detective on this, hopefully whoever did it finishes the job quickly. worst case a path will pack in soon enough, and anyone who cant drive back has to park in a nearby parking lot and ride in-which is something we WILL ALL have to do at some point when the place becomes a construction site.

anyone out there over the weekend?

Rode twice trail is in great shape. Th eridgelines are getting tore up by ATV's looks like dirt bikes and 4 wheelers. The road is getting packed in though. I parked at holiday inn. they have a huge parkinglot with out any will be towed signs I could see. Drove back in a friends truck on Sunday. It didn't seem bad. Some dude made it back in a mini. WOW.
